Confusion As Electrical Polls collapse in Elabo Street, Alimosho, Lagos State

Commuters of Elabor Street, Iyana-Ipaja in Alimosho Local Government, was thrown into a sudden confusion last week Wednesday as three concrete polls fell across the main road of the street as a result of the rain that fell on that day.
The rain started around 6pm was said to have been so heavy that the polls that was erected very close to gutters were brought down and crossed the road with current on it.
According to an eye witness, Chineye Chiokwe said she was furious about the development because the polls were erected just a week age and see how it was brought down. Her words “do you believe that these polls were erected last month? It means that they were not properly done, they PHCN is fun of doing witch-watch work that never last.” Adding that it was just God that saved both commuters and passersby from being victims of circumstances. She said one Keke napep almost got hit by the poll because when it was falling, the keke was on high speed so all the waving that people were waving him to wait fell on deaf ears but he narrowly escaped.
Meanwhile, another eyes witness who identified himself as Charles said he did not see himself as citizen of this country because no matter what he say, there will not be any change. Adding that it is unfortunate that people’s voice does not count in this part of the world. His words “I believe am nobody in this state so whatever I say will not count. This polls that fell today were erected last week and you can see what has happened to it.” He continued this people call PHCN can kill because for this to have fallen like this, means that they didn’t mix the cement very well and even the hold that was dogged for it is not deep enough and I wonder why things that has to do with life is been taken with levity hand.” He said.
Residents therefore called on government to intervene in order to speed up the work because ever since then, they have been in darkness.
